Early in the year 2001, twelve ladies gathered to honor their visiting matriarch, Edna Earle. During the course of the evening, Eddie announced that she had lost her marbles. (Well, yesssssssss that had been obvious for years!) "No!" she responded, "Once I had some real marbles, but I lost them."
A conversation ensued and all present (young and old alike) realized that loss, disappointment, frustration and the general wear and tear of life caused everyone to lose their marbles from time to time. However, they found that the fellowship of family and friends, fun and laughter (along with some refreshment) soon brought healing and the restoration of one's marbles!
Thus it was agreed that a Society should be formed for the express purpose of finding lost marbles and restoring them to their owners. The founding chapter was chartered on December 26, 2003 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
